It's that time of year in New York again. The change of seasons, from summer to fall. You can smell it in the air and wake to it, with windows open and a cool breeze blowing through the sheets. Some will recognize the change with the start of football or back to school. Some look forward to the return of their favorite T.V. show or the halloween orange and chimney red leaves on the trees. To some fall will mean pumpkins and butternut squash soup, ice coffees will turn hot and peaches turn to pears. Some will look forward to October costumes or getting fat on turkey and stuffing, but to me, fall is the season to get tattooed. The itch always starts in September, as the pools get drained and the beaches empty out. No more worrying about keeping a fresh tattoo out of the water or blazing sun, it's just an easy heal. For me, that cool autumn breeze feels perfect on a new, healing piece and loose fitting full sleeves and long pants keep a freshly wrapped tattoo out of the prying eyes of nosy strangers. There is no sweaty sting just a beautiful new piece of artwork added to my bodies collection. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I've never been tattooed in the summer, it's just that I've never enjoyed it nearly as much as this glorious time of year. So if you are like me start getting those ideas together and appointments lined up with your favorite artist. I know I am.
